dlivianThe AGM is looming and as usual all positions are able to be contested, although some will be vacant.

I will not be running for President this time as work, sport and family commitments are stopping me from attending as many events as I would like to, and I know it has been noticed.

I am happy to continue in organising the All American Day and the Anniversary Pony Round Up and of course will still attend events and support the club in any way I can.

There is a new wave of current committee members and I know more on the way, and with new blood comes new ideas.

Next year will be my 30th year as a member with 29 of them on the committee in some capacity and I welcome members to step up and have a go.

The next major show we are participating in is the All Ford Day at Western Sydney International Dragway and we have 100 tickets available so contact the events guys to get a ticket.

We are also displaying at MotorEx this year and as it is the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby that will be the theme of our display.

Thank you to Brian McAllister for his assistance in this.

While on Shelby celebrations I have organised with the ARDC for the Shelby to be a featured marque at the Muscle Car Masters on September 6 at SMSP.

Steve Jackman is in charge of the Car Club Corral display (thank you Steve) at the eastern end of the grandstand and I will look after the Shelby’s, once again with the assistance of our Shelby Registrar, Brian McAllister (thank you Brian).

Don’t forget the charity raffle tickets to be part of the TRRTA Touring Car Masters Mustang team with Glenn Seton at the MCM for a chance to win the experience of a lifetime for you, your son or your Dad……. or wife, daughter or mother!!!

The next big event that we are organising is the Merrylands Muster and this time following a one year break we will be holding the State Concours again.

Entry forms will be forthcoming and considering the standard of cars in our club I am sure we will put on a great display of Concours and Show ‘n’ Shine Mustangs.

Finally, on a sad note, Steve Lond passed away last month following a short battle with Cancer.

Steve was a former President of the MOCA Victoria (16 years!) and President of the MOCA National Body (4 years) and owner of Mustangs of Melbourne.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends as we farewell another passionate Mustang enthusiast.
