December 2014 President's Report

David Livian

dlivianThis year has gone so fast and what a year it has been.

We have experienced the highs of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang with many of our members enjoying trips to the motherland.

We joined Ford Australia in their celebrations and Alan’s trip to Ford HQ in Melbourne was a resounding success.

Then there were the lows of losing 3 of the clubs favourite friends in Garry Treloar, Arthur Ladkin and David Francis. Members who will be sorely missed but we must look forward as they would have wanted us to.

Next year we kick off with the All American Day and plans are well underway with this event. We will need some members to be at Castle Towers at 7am to help direct cars to their areas but as we are now back to the traditional allocated layout this will be a much simpler job.

Closely following this is CARnivale (the old MotorFest) in the city and for those lucky enough to receive an invitation this is a great day.

Our new events coordinators will have many events for you to enjoy your Mustangs with and I am sure later in the year we will be involved with the Australian release of the 2015 RHD Mustang.

I’ve ordered one from Clancy Ford for our 20th wedding anniversary and know of others who have as well (not necessarily for an anniversary present) so it will be great to enter this exciting new phase of the Mustang as a club

I know it sounds like a long time away but we are also encouraging submissions for venues for the Nationals which will be held in NSW/ACT in 2017.

At this stage we have great interest in Bathurst and we already have support from YeeHah Promotions who organise the Bathurst Motor Festival at the same time, and they see no problem with us doing a couple of parade laps during the weekend of racing.

As I said this is our first submission and we welcome others for the committee to discuss.

Thank you to the committee and members for their camaraderie during the year, and for making this club such an enjoyable and respected club to be a member of.

All the best to you all for the Christmas Festive season and New Year and I look forward to seeing you at an event in 2015.
