Presidents Report December 2008

Well, it may have taken nearly 6 months but we have now filled all the positions on the committee.

I would like to welcome and thank Darren and Kathryn Sloan for taking on the Magazine Editors role and of course Phil Preston for filling in for the last 2 months.

Also, Keith Speer has decided to take on the duties of Stock Controller as of the Merrylands Muster and I think he will be well supported by Mario Compatangelo.

Thank you for stepping up and helping us to continue in providing the services to our members that makes our club so highly respected.

The Muster will be a fond memory by now and I am sure it went off well.

Thank you to everyone who helped leading up to, and on the day; and of course to all the members who attended to make it another great event. I am sure there will be a comprehensive report in a future edition of the Pony Express.

As the year winds up we have the Family Christmas party to look forward to. Thank you Wayne, Karen, John and Doreen for all your effort with this special day, and with all the events you have organised since joining the committee.

Also thank you to Cas Nicholson for taking on one of the hardest jobs on any committee, being the Secretary / Treasurer role ably supported by her family.

In fact, it's great to see so many committee positions taken on by couples.

As I said at the last general meeting it is great to see so many supportive spouses in a traditionally male oriented hobby. We still have many of the ladies coming to runs and helping out, as well as joining the committee.

Thank you to you all.

We also have our monthly meeting incorporating the Annual Charity Memorabilia Auction so please bring along your Mustang or related memorabilia for auction and of course, your money, for a fun filled evening.

We kick off the New Year with the 27th All American Day on January 18th. While Ken, Bruce and myself have the preliminaries organised we still require the assistance of members on the day for jobs such as registration desk, parking duties and setting up the signage and stage so if you can help please let us know.

We also need some judges but don't be scared off thinking that you will need to know what the correct part number is for the fan belt on a 1958 Edsel Citation. You will be paired up and will judge cars on appearance, not concours correctness. If interested please contact me.

We have also formed an event hotline which will be a mobile phone number that will have the latest event information on a recorded message. If you are not sure if an event is on or not, due to bad weather, you can call it at any time of day or night to check.

The number is: 0419 239 508

For future, the contact number will be found at the beginning of the Coming Events section in the Pony Express.

This number will be maintained by the committee based on information available at the time, however all care but no responsibility will be accepted for the accuracy of information as things can change quite quickly. We will do our best.

Finally, thank you to all who have supported the club over the year, from the committee members who commit so much time and effort, to the general members who support by attending events and helping out where they can.

I would now like to welcome the following new members:

Arthur Fowler 1967 Convertible
Graham Jones 1969 Sportsroof
Glen Carter 1967 Convertible

From Heather, Jordan, Luke and myself we wish you all a safe and happy festive season.

Enjoy those Mustangs,
David Livian
