Thanks to those who came to the AGM last month, and welcome to the new Committee members – Cas
Thanks also to John Bailey, who once again audited our accounts, and to Doug Henry, who’s agreed to continue in the role of Public Officer.
I’ve just come back from a trip to the Gold Coast with the family, so I missed MotorEx. I trust those who attended enjoyed the event.
Keep an eye on the events calendar, because the second half of the year looks like being pretty busy for us, with some great events planned. August will be particularly busy, with All Ford Day on the 12th and Shannon’s Eastern Creek Classic on the 26th. September will also be a two event month, with the Lugarno Spring Fair on the 16th and our Muster and State Concours on the 23rd.
The year will round out with the Wollongong Show & Shine on 21 October, Umina on 18 November and the Christmas Party on 9 December. Don’t forget Cruzin’ For a Cure on Sunday 4 November, and the fundraising dinner for the same very worthy cause is on Friday August 17. At last month’s meeting we presented Bryn Miller with a plaque in appreciation of Merrylands RSL’s support of our club. We particularly wanted to recognise Bryn’s personal support of and friendship with the club. I spoke to him a couple of weeks after the meeting and not only was it the surprise we’d hoped it would be, but he was delighted to have received the plaque. Hopefully we’ll be able to publish a photo of the plaque in a future issue of Pony Express.
Unfortunately it looks like I won’t be able to make next month’s meeting as I’ll be interstate. I’ll leave it in David Livian’s very capable hands to chair the meeting. Finally, a very big welcome to the following new members: Erwin & Vanessa Olguin 66 Coupe Tony & Brenda Gerasimou 66 Convertible Lenny Hogan 65 Fastback Rob & Marn Annesley 66 Convertible Tim Thompson TBA Rawdon Petersen 65 Fastback & 66 Convertible. As always, if there’s anything that I or any Committee member can do to help, don’t hesitate to ask.
See you on the road!.
