Hi All
On 31st January 2023 at the CMC general meeting David Livian was
presented the Inaugural Tony DeLuca Volunteer of the Year award
by the Council of Motor Clubs. The CMC was formed in 1963 as a representative voice for
its entire member clubs and has been liaising with authorities such as the Roads &
Maritime Services Authority of NSW. It currently has 231 member clubs representing
29,000 members and, among other things, has been responsible for the CVS and HVS
registration schemes many of us enjoy today. It also raises money for charity through the
Shannons Sydney Classic show at SMP where over 1800 vehicles are on display from the
early 1900’s to modern classics.
Tony De Luca was an instrumental part of this show and the movement in general and was
lost to us in 2019.The CMC established the VOTY in Tony’s memory and David was honored to
be nominated by the Mustang Owners Club of Australia, NSW, and ultimately be the
inaugural recipient.
As David said on receiving this award “we do this because we love it, enjoy our cars, and
helping charities; receiving this award is just a bonus. “David was presented the award by
Tony’s widow, Kay De Luca, who is still very active in the CMC.
Thank you to the CMC and MOCA NSW.
