President’s Report – November 2021

Presidents Report

Hi All

Its great to see the calendar slowly filling and at this rate 2021 should be back to normal.

The All Ford Day is our next big event but unfortunately, I won’t be there at the new date conflicts with Challenge Bathurst, a competitive event at Mt Panorama I have successfully participated in for over 10 years now.

Then we have the huge Christmas Party at Umina, supported by the Merrylands RSL and MOCA NSW.

Pat Schinella is doing a great job of keeping you up to date with these events and others, and has put his hand up to be President for 20/21

The AGM is next week and as previously stated let us know if you want to be part of the organising committee of this great club.

The committee has been discussing the future of the Pony Express and its format.

During Covid and the lack of events we distributed this electronic version of the magazine, E-News, and this was well received.

At the October physical general meeting I took a poll of the roughly 70 attendees and the majority still wanted a hard copy of the magazine.

Further discussions on the committee came up with a compromise, suggested by a member and also utilised by my race club of which I am the editor, and that is to continue with a hard copy, but issue bi-monthly ie: every second month.

We usually have at least 2-3 months’ notice of events and any last-minute changes or events can be disseminated via our email system.

We envisage each magazine may be thicker than before to include run reports but we feel this is a good compromise to deal with our members requirements.

We as a committee can revisit the members wishes in the future and monitor their sentiment with regards to this matter.

Finally, the All American is under control but I am short of 2 category sponsors.

If you have a related business you would like to promote, or know someone who has, please contact me.

Most of our sponsors have been with the event for many years but now one has closed due to retirement and the other moved to Queensland.

Cost is very reasonable ($350-$500), is tax deductible and ALL profits go to the Childrens Hospital at Westmead.

Until next time, enjoy those Mustangs.

Thank You

David Livian
