To make an understatement, it’s very interesting times we live in at the moment.
The current pandemic has had a profound effect on the way we live and its effect on our social life and business, big and small.
Our thoughts are with you all as I don’t think anyone will be unaffected in some way.
As far as the MOCA NSW is concerned it has virtually obliterated our events calendar.
Unfortunately, everything has been either cancelled or postponed; and with good reason.
Initially we were able to manage our own events, such as Traffic Dodger drives and the general meeting last month where 33 members attended. This was a good turnout considering what was going on but now it is all dictated by the government.
I have been using email to keep you up to date as things changed very rapidly and we will continue to do so.
Naturally with so few events to attend we will be understanding as far as your logbook entries for club registration.
On a brighter note we had a good display at Repco, Castle Hill with 11 Mustangs parked in front of the store and on the footpath in front of the complex.
Who would know this would be our last outing for quite a while.
At the last general meeting we finalised the raffle tickets for the Roush Mustang and the good news is that we made money! It was touch and go for a while, but we all rallied towards the end and while we will have to wait for the final figures at least we know that we won’t have to contribute to any loss. Thank you all who bought and sold tickets and let’s hope one of our members scores the big prize.
It is a great shame the Nationals has been cancelled but we will assist the MOCSA by buying some of their merchandise for our raffles and sale to our members.
Finally, it was brought to my attention about a comment Frank Dannaher, organiser of many Traffic Dodger and other drives made in a report of his in the last magazine.
Frank is a funny bugger and made a comment in one of his reports about “classic versus plastic” in reference to the balance of early Mustangs to S550’s in attendance.
I am known for having a sense of humour and sometimes my jokes have not been received the way I intended.
I own both classic and plastic Mustangs and would be very disappointed in people if a comment like that offended them.
In an increasingly PC world, and with everything that is going on, a sense of humour may be the only thing that gets you through it and help you cope.
Don’t be so precious. Whether you have a big block Shelby or an EcoBoost, metal or plastic, we love you all!
